Smyrna Labor Day 5K Set for September 4 Presented by The Charyn Darby Foundation

Join us in Smyrna on Labor Day, September 4, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. for the third annual Smyrna 5K.  The title sponsor of this year’s race is The Charyn Darby Foundation.  Proceeds from the race will benefit Smyrna Public Safety Foundation and the Smyrna Optimist Club, which support local public safety and youth initiatives.

Register as a team of ten or more participants for a chance to win $200 cash for your organization or group. Packet pickup for preregistered participants will be available at Orange Theory Fitness Smyrna, 4495 West Village Way, Smyrna, GA  30080 the following days and times:

Friday, September 1, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 2, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, September 3, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Race day registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. in front of City Hall, 2800 King Street, where the 5k and 1k races start and conclude. Orange Theory Fitness Smyrna will be leading the participants in pre-race warmup.

There will be plenty of fluids on the course and food and fluids at the finish. Quality T-shirts are given to all participants. Chip timing will be used to ensure accurate race results which are given in numerous age categories.

The mission of the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation is to encourage and strengthen the partnership between the Community and its Public Safety Personnel.

The Optimist Club of Smyrna is an affiliate of Optimist International and incorporated in the State of Georgia as a nonprofit service club. Hundreds of youth in Smyrna are helped by the Optimist Club’s projects and programs.
