KSU Instructor Wins Watercolor Competition

Gov  Nathan Deal and Kathy ForbesArt instructor Kathy Rennell Forbes, pictured with Governor Nathan Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal, was selected to have one of her watercolor paintings, “Woman in Blue,” on display at the Georgia State Capitol in the Office of the Governor through October as part of the “Art of Georgia II: Portraits of a Community” exhibit.

It is the second time her artwork has been selected for this honor. The statewide call for submissions was hosted by the Georgia Council for the Arts, and the goal of the exhibit is to illustrate the uniqueness of Georgia communities as seen through the through the eyes of Georgia artist. Forbes, an internationally acclaimed artist, teaches art courses through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Education.
