Cobb in Motion

July 16, 2013

Cobb County has released a video, “Cobb in Motion,” addressing the 2040 Comprehensive Transportation Plan. According to Communications Director Robert Quigley, “the 2040 CTP will assist the county and the cities of Acworth, Austell, Kennesaw, Marietta, Powder Springs and Smyrna in determining countywide goals, needs and priorities through a collaborative, joint study process.”

The 2040 CTP will provide reliable roads and transportation to the public. From 1970 to 2005, Cobb County experienced a growth of 237 percent. As the county continues to grow, there is a continuous need for better transportation.

More than 707,000 people call Cobb County home. The residents of Cobb enjoy the weather, the arts, the history, the schools and more that the county has to offer. Marietta Square is a favorite area for many residents. Thousands of people also take advantage of the bike trails that run through Cobb.

After three decades of expansive growth, it’s no wonder that Cobb County is implementing the 2040 CTP to ensure better transportation for the future. With the motto, “The Future is You,” Cobb County is working towards a better tomorrow for current and future residents.

Public meetings being planned for in the upcoming year will seek input from residents about the transportation needs of the community. Learn more about the 2040 CTP by watching the new video here.
