WaterSmart Presents ‘Saving Water Cobb Day’ in Honor of National Fix-A-Leak-Week

March 18, 2013

In observance of national Fix-A-Leak-Week, Cobb County Water System (CCWS) – through its joint waterSmart initiative with Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority – will host “Saving Water Cobb Day” on Tuesday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Water System’s Customer Service facility at 660 South Cobb Drive in Marietta. “Saving Water Cobb Day” is part of WaterSense’s national Fix-A-Leak-Week (March 18-24), inviting community members to come out and explore different displays focused on current and future water-saving technology.

The open-to-the-public event will educate attendees on indoor and outdoor water conservation, while Marine Plumbing will provide tips on saving time and money through leak-detection and repair. Displays – sponsored by Marine Plumbing, Rheem, Pulley and Associates, and Delta – will be onsite and will include the future of in-home water conservation, including solar water heating, tankless water heaters and bathroom fixtures. Families can also participate in the “We’re for Water” Plinko game and take home free water saving materials. Displays will also be set up in front of the customer service building highlighting the future of in-home water conservation, including solar water heating, tankless water heaters and bathroom fixtures.

“‘Saving Water Cobb Day’ will be a fun, interactive and educational event at which we will more creatively inform our neighbors on the importance of residential leak detection and in-home conservation efforts,” says Kathy Nguyen, senior project manager at Cobb County Water System.

Fix-A-Leak-Week, which will run from March 18-24, aims to teach individuals across the U.S. about finding and fixing in-home leaks and reducing wasted daily water usage.
