Cobb Diaper Day: Helping Local Families in Need

October 23, 2012

The 4th Annual Cobb Diaper Day will be held at Glover Park on the Marietta Square on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, from 5 to 6 p.m. The event will benefit five local Cobb County non-profit agencies serving families: Christian Aid Mission Partnership (C.A.M.P.), The Center for Family Resources, MUST Ministries, Reconnecting Families and the YWCA of Northwest Georgia.

This community-wide collection day helps ease some of the burden these non-profit agencies face trying to help and serve local families with infants and young children. Low-income families often have the daily stress of choosing between food and diapers. In these tough economic times, low-income families often rely on food stamps, which do not cover the cost of diapers, costing approximately $100 each month.

Local agencies can only dispense diapers four times per year to their clients, due to the lack of resources. To help meet the needs of local non-profits and families in need, our goal for the 2012 Cobb Diaper Day is to collect more than 100,000 diapers in all different sizes on Oct. 29 in the span of an hour.

Help us reach our goal! For more information on Cobb Diaper Day or how to get involved, visit www.cobbdiaperday.com.
