Puckett EMS: Dedicated to Serving Others

June 27, 2012

Founded in 2001, Puckett EMS is a nationally accredited ambulance service providing emergency and non-emergency services in Georgia and Tennessee. Puckett EMS became the licensed 911 provider for the cities of Austell, Mableton, and Powder Springs as well as the contracted provider of emergent and non-emergent transportation for Wellstar Health Systems and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Since its establishment, Puckett has become the one of four nationally accredited ambulance service providers in Georgia and also serves in Tennessee with a contract for Erlanger Health Systems in Chattanooga. Today, the company continues to expand with the introduction of its services in Dade County, Georgia in 2011 and Marion County, Tennessee in 2012.

Innovation and progress remains central to Puckett’s growth as a recognized leader in the EMS industry. Continually inventing creative new products, Puckett is able to provide the best quality care for its patients. Every Puckett EMS employee is exposed to the company’s core values: taking ownership and the responsibility to exceed expectations and acting as a servant leader. These values encourage continual progress so staff can provide the personalized quality care patients seek.

Over the years, Puckett EMS has seen a steadily increasing number of patients without health insurance coverage even though health insurance companies continue to reduce reimbursements as costs continue to rise. In order to continue serving the community in the midst of this financial burden, Puckett implemented online bill pay which, which has proven to be an extremely successful tool. In addition, Puckett EMS also modified its business model by adding a scanner to each of its ambulances allowing the crew members to attach paperwork directly to the trip and, consequently, reducing turnaround time in the billing department from three or four days to next-day billing. As a direct result of these changes, claims are being paid faster and, as a privately owned company, Puckett EMS is able to continue serving the community even in special circumstances where patients lack insurance coverage.

Their altruistic determination, ability to embrace progress, and die-hard commitment to quality care and excellence make Puckett EMS a very important asset to our community. Congratulations to Puckett EMS on receiving Cobb Chamber’s honor as one of the Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year award!
