December 1, 2011

On Nov. 29, Kauffman Tire was awarded the 2011 “Georgia Large Family Business of the Year Award” from Kennesaw State University’s Cox Family Enterprise Center.  The award is given annually to one business in each size category that demonstrates the results of combining strong business with strong family. This year was the 20th anniversary of the award and the event was held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel at the Cobb Galleria.

“We are very humbled and honored to receive this award and every associate in the company should be commended for their contribution in winning this recognition,” said Mark Kauffman, president.

Founded in Wooster, OH by Harry Kauffman in 1936, Kauffman Tire is now celebrating its 75th year of business with its 50th retail store opening in December. Current CEO John Kauffman, son of Harry, moved the headquarters to Atlanta in 1975 where it remains today. His son Mark joined the company in 1984.
