Cobb Galleria Centre Announces Renovations

December 13, 2011

The Cobb Galleria Centre is proud to announce a series of renovations and upgrades that will help to maintain the venue’s status as a leader in the industry.

The investment includes a complete renovation of the 25,000-square-foot John A. Williams Ballroom, common areas and restrooms. The majority of the renovations will be completed by the middle of January 2012, with the remainder to be finished by June 2012. They include new carpeting, wall coverings, lighting fixtures, painting, moveable partition maintenance and electrical and data upgrades.

“The John A. Williams Ballroom plays host to some of Atlanta’s most prestigious social events and corporate meetings. We’re proud to make these renovations that will keep the Cobb Galleria Centre looking even better than the day it opened,” said Michele Swann, General Manager and CEO.

The Centre also has recently invested in an upgraded chiller for its HVAC systems, painting and flooring renovations in the Center Court of the Galleria Specialty Shops and a wireless network upgrade that allows for 10 times more public internet capacity inside the venue. The network upgrades bring both the Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre’s capacity to 225 MB, which will allow for plenty of room to accommodate future changes in technology.

Additional projects currently underway also include maintenance to the 5-level parking deck and a new digital reader board system throughout the facility.

Cobb Galleria Centre is located in the beautifully landscaped 88-acre Galleria complex in prestigious northwest Atlanta. Cobb Galleria Centre is Atlanta’s premier convention facility with 320,000 square feet of event space, four exhibition halls, 20 meeting rooms, four executive boardrooms and a grand ballroom. The Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority governs Cobb Galleria Centre, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and Galleria Specialty Shops.
